James Bryan Graves
James is a computer scientist, workshop leader, maker, lecturer and community organizer.
He is the founder of Hackers & Founders in Amsterdam, arguably one of the largest and historically relevant start-up communities in the city and a proven model for de-professionalization. Hackers & Founders is also a boutique co-working space with a 90 desks and 40+ million Euro deal flow.
James also co-founded Stichting Hackers & Designers which has raised hundreds of thousands of Euros to run 3 years of consecutive summer school programs to promote knowledge sharing between 100+ international students and workshop leaders around art, design and technology. Hackers & Designers has completed multiple workshop series around the world including multi-week tours through North America, China and Europe.
James has a Computer Science degree from Perdue University and is currently interested in the post-neo-liberal start-up era, critical founding and self-organization.
